This course will be concerned with constructing mathematical models for decision-making problems in business and use Spreadsheet to solve the problems. These problems includes production planning, inventory management, portfolio selection, transportation and assignment problems, project management, covering and location problem, network flow models and so on. Linear programming, sensitivity analysis, integer programming, multicriteria decision making, and simulation are the methods and techniques used to solve these problems. This course not only introduces students these typical and practical models, but also demonstrates students how to use Spreadsheet to solve these problems or obtain optimal solutions.
